Matthew Hunt

Matthew is a graduate of Lexington Theological Seminary in Kentucky. He has 20–plus years in ministry, both as an associate and senior pastor. His philosophy about ministry can be best summed up by John 17: 20-21. "I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one." He is… single and co-parenting his two children.

Adult Choir Director

Dr. Phyllis Robertson

Dr. Phyllis Robertson has directed the Salem Choristers since 1996. An accomplished vocalist, Dr. Robertson has presented a number of faculty recitals at various universities and performed many Sunday Music Series recitals.  Phyllis has been the conductor of the Quincy Symphony Chorus since 1989 and has sung numerous solos with the QSC and was the featured mezzo-soprano soloist for their performances of Handel’s Messiah in 1990, 1997 and 2002.  Dr. Robertson has also performed many roles with the Muddy River Opera Company. Obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Nebraska and her Master’s of Music Arizona State University (ASU), she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Iowa in 1982.  Dr. Robertson has also performed many roles with the Muddy River Opera Company. Obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Nebraska and her Master’s of Music Arizona State University (ASU), she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Iowa in 1982.  Dr. Robertson has been a member of the music faculties of the University of Iowa, ASU, Central Missouri State University, Eastern Illinois University, Blackburn University, Culver-Stockton College and Quincy University, and has been an adjunct voice professor and lecturer at Truman State University since 1999 and has a private voice studio in Quincy. Dr. Roberston has organized and directed the All Faiths Concert for a number of years and is program chair for the Sunday Music Series.  In addition to her musical responsibilities, Phyllis has been an officer on the Timberline Association Board, past president of the Quincy Ladies Golf Assoc. and the Westview Ladies Golf Assoc.

Office Manager

Barbara Edwards

Barb is a retired teacher who decided to return to the workforce.  She has always liked secretarial/organizational work, and she loves Salem, so working as the office manager at Salem is the perfect fit.  She graduated from Gem City Business College with a Secretarial Degree, worked for a while, and then attended Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL where she graduated with a teaching degree and a Psychology Major.  She has worked for both the Quincy School District and the Hannibal School District.  She obtained her Masters Degree from Lindenwood College in 2010.
Barb has been married to Mike for over 35 years and has 3 adult daughters and 2 grandchildren.  She loves the beach, music (plays guitar and sings), reading, and cooking.  She is active as a church member and also with Walk to Emmaus.
